Overcharged by 2 supermarkets today!!

OK, day off, so rushed round to do the weekly shop. First stop-Tesco. Bought a few items, 6 of which were on multi buy offer, special offer at £1, but, also buy 3 for 2. The discount never came off, so then had to Q at CS for what seemed forever to get my DTD £4.
As Tesco didn't have all I needed, 2nd stop-Asda. There, I also bought some things on multi buy, same story at checkout-no discount.
Another 10 min wait at CS to get my £4+ money back, not even a sorry, and certainly no wiff of this £2 gift card I've since found out you should get if overcharged.
This is MY DAY OFF, it's bad enough having to go shopping in the first place, but to then have to Q at CS for them to correct their error!
I do religiously check my receipts, but I wonder how many don't? How many think they're getting a good deal, when they're not?
OK, rant over, back to the housework...............

holy shit monkeys, YOUR DAY OFF?
you can claim compo for that. probably.helpful tips
it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
their - 'owned by them'
they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)0 -
Same here, shopped at Asda yesterday, 3 for £9 on cat food didn't come off, Morrison's today 1/2 didn't come off for a frozen meal. Sick to death of it.0

Quite often happens in Asda for me, particularly if you use the self service tills it seems. Got home twice in the past before I noticed it.
Other times I have actually thought hold on lets check before I have left. Even then to get 50p - £1 back isn't worth the queue at the CS desk.
Unfortunately the debate has been done to death, even appearing as a topic for investigation on TV programs such as Watchdog.
All they seem to reply is along the lines of sorry but sometimes our systems don't work as they should do.I bet the largest supermarkets are conning people who don't check out of thousands a week.0 -
It happens so its not new, oh wow your day off, ive queued up for stuff on my day off but i just get on with it and get out asap0
-
Oh i'm sorry, thought this was the place to vent? I was trying to point out that MY time is precious to ME, and I don't want to particularly waste MY time standing in a queue in order to correct something that shouldn't still be happening. Vent over........It happens so its not new, oh wow your day off, ive queued up for stuff on my day off but i just get on with it and get out asap"Hope for the Best

i'd have more sympathy if you didn't say Q and CS. I got that far and then started thinking about James Bond's mate getting mugged.0

this is a first for me on here - i'm going to apologise for the unnecessary tone of my reply
frame it, you wont see a similar apology from me again on these boardshelpful tips

Sorry, got a bit carried away with my rant, I just assumed that people reading would know that Q meant Queue, and CS-Customer Services. Should never ASSUME, I know. Out of interest, I keep seeing AFAIK mentioned on these forums, what does this mean??scheming_gypsy wrote: »i'd have more sympathy if you didn't say Q and CS.
