Scam on BT?

I just had an interesting phone call from an Indian call centre re my BT account and I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

A man started off my quoting my telephone number to me and then said I had been awarded free calls on my BT line forever.

He then wanted my bank account details - which he didn't get!


Surely this must be a scam?

Anyone else had this call?

sounds like a blatant scam to me, im suprised he expected you to fall for it.

nope - but it sure does sound like a scam to me!!!!

thanks for the warning. I'm getting lots of calls from bt at teh moment cos of changing to theri bb and having trouble so I wouldnt have been wary.

Lot of these scams going around where people are masquerading as a trustworthy person or business to obtain sensitive info.
