Anybody here having intermittent problems with their BT Broadband connection? I am FED UP with having to ring up their Helpline to complain about the constant problems I am having getting connected.

The worst time is night, when I can't get connected at all for over an hour! And now the daily connection is getting worse, as this morning I just could not get online at all. Needless to say, this necessitated my having to contact them, and this time I was answered by clerk who said their offices were now based in India! Does anybody know more on this?

So are any of you BT Broadband customer experiencing similar connection problems?

Thought from the title that the debt collectors were coming round!!

Anyhoo could you expand on your problem.

    1 Wired or wireless connection
2 Is it the line that drops out
3 Is the router connected at the master socket
    4 Have you other extensions

Can you post your router line statistics?

    To answer your questions:

    1. Wireless connection
    2. When I click on my Brower icon to connect to BT Broadband, it just won't connect at all for a while. This is usually worse at night.
    3. My router's adaptor is plugged into one of my electric wall sockets, and the other end is plugged into the ASDL socket of my white filter (the other filter's hole accommodates my phone wire).
    4. I have no extensions other than my BT Broadband router and ASDL filter. I only have one BT phone line.

I have this intermittent connection problem for some time now, and when I last rang BT, they did a line test and said I was on a "lower setting." They then bumped this setting up, and it was fine for a few days, with no delays in connecting. But now it is back again, and worse than ever.

The lady to whom I spoke this afternoon was based in their Indian call centre, and she said she has escalated the problem to a higher manager, and that they would get back to me at teatime today. Still waiting, though.

Should I go with another broadband provider? Am seriously considering this now, as I am fed up with this constant problem of irregular connecting. I used to be with Sky, but went back to BT as I could not afford to keep up with paying for the SKY TV package too.

    I'm fed up!

If you connect your PC via ethernet do you still get dropouts?

This may help re line stats

You can buy Sky broadband and talk for £10 as a stand alone product + line rental.

However if its a line fault it needs fixing before swapping ISPs, its the same BT Openreach engineers who do the fault finding in either case.
