Ryanair taxes Manchester-Shannon

Hi all,
We're hoping to go to Ireland perhaps in March; I was looking at prices today, and it looks like Ryanair is charging taxes of £26.68 outbound and £14.95 return for Manchester-Dublin, but only £9.98 outbound and £7.00 return for Manchester-Shannon. Is this right - it seems way too low?? I'm thinking that perhaps they haven't finished updating their website, as the Dublin amounts sound normal. They don't seem to want people to contact them, as I couldn't find an email address, and their expensive 0871 number doesn't work...
Given how insistent they are about on passing costs to the customer, I'd like to be certain about the taxes, because if it really is that cheap, we'll probably fly to Shannon with Ryanair rather than to Cork with BMIBaby.
Thanks.

1) it isn't all taxes - most of it is Ryanair charges
2) by clicking the link marked "details" when you get the charges / taxes you can find out the breakdown of them
3) The Shannon charges now include £10 APD & are now £20.68 which means that Pikeyair is grabbing a little more money off you and hoping you won't notice0 -
Hi Alan,
Thanks for your reply, but I'm still not getting the figures you mentioned in 3).
I'm searching for flights departing Manchester 14/3 for Shannon, and returning on 28/3. Here's what it's showing:
Going Out (Reg fare)
1 @ 0.01 GBP 0.01 GBP
5.00 GBP Government Tax
4.98 GBP PSC - Non Refundable
9.98 GBP Total Taxes, Fees & Charges
Coming Back (Web fare)
1 @ 0.99 GBP 0.99 GBP
3.32 GBP PSC - Non Refundable
3.68 GBP Ins & Wchr Levy
7.00 GBP Total Taxes, Fees & Charges
So it looks like only £5 of the total is tax, which again sounds very low, but I've no idea what the rest of it is!0 -
as Shannon isnt in the UK, its ROI, you shouldnt be charged the government tax for the return journey. It only applies to departing flights from UK.
The £5 government tax is now £10 though, so the Ryanair details above are not correct0 -
Looks as if Ryanair's website has thrown a wobbly as I get the following APD's for Manchester to Shannon
Sun Mar 11 : £10
Wed Mar 14 : £5
Fri Mar 16 : £10
Sun Mar 18 : £10
Wed Mar 21 : £5
In both cases the Wednesday fare is £0.01.
I think it's the effect of one of their recent offers where you get flights from £9.99.0
