Been rejected for ppi on on cc.
I thought the letter that they sent would have a copy of the original application so I phoned them and asked for one and they said they dont do that any more and they would try to trace it and send as soon as possible but it may take some time ha.
I didnt tell them it was orginally Morgan Stanley then goldfish then barclaycard. Let them sort that out.
The original application was some promotion in a service station years ago for Morgan Stanley card.
Anyone else been rejected by barclaycard

I was rejected initially , but managed to get them to change their minds.
What reasons did they give for the rejection ?0 -
Quote :- Our sales process used at the time of the sale required our staff to fully discuss the significant exclusions and limitations of the policy in a clear and transparent manner. We have been unable to identify any reason to suggest that this was not discusssed with you.
Will just wait see if I get the original application from Morgan Stanley whereby the sales person never discussed anything with me just told me to sign up which in my ignorance did.0 -
I have had a rejection from Barclaycard with regard to my Goldfish card. In the original rejection letter they just stated that as the PPI didin't show on my account in September 2005 they couldn't go back any further than six years with their records. I asked them to reconsider as I had managed to find numerous old statements dating back to 2001. They again rejected my claim as although the application form. which they tell me was dated 2001, didn't have PPI on it, I must have spoken to someone after that and asked for it to be added at a later date. Why would I do that when I paid off the bill every month. I telephoned them and asked for the date when the PPI was presumably supposed to have been added but they were unable to give me this info. I again asked them to reconsider and they have rejected it for a third time as again they don't have any information for more than six years. How come they were able to find out what date I applied for the card and that I hadn't requested PPI0

There is a certain logic to this.
You received monthly statements which would show the PPI premium and that would have started occurring more than six years ago. So why didn't you contact them and complain at the time, rather than waiting until now.0 -
I did query the payments and cancelled them after my accountant asked why I was paying PPI when I was self employed. I thought the payment until then was necessary to enable you to have the card.0

& me too .... Barclaycard are playing hard ball. I'm thinking now about the fos. Any reply back from them yet for you?"onwards & upwards"0 -
They rejected my claim as well (Goldfish).
First they said they can't find the account and when i sent statements they rejected the claim saying PPI is from more than 6 years ago.
They did the same with my default charges claim on the same account.
I've passed it to the FOS and they seem to understand the frustration of consumers searching for who to claim from for Goldfish. I've chased this with all previous owners and all said NO.0
