G24 Parking Ticket

I received a parking ticket from G24 for parking in Norwich retail Park, I used the template letter informing them I was not the driver, And did not tell them who was. I have just receiced another letter informing that I was unsuccessful further evidence is required.

They cite a case in Oldham Court where combined parking Solutions vs Mr S Thomas, where Mr Thomas claimed not to be the driver and did n't state who was. the judge ruled that on balance of probability Mr Thomas was the driver and ordered to pay the charge and addiontal costs.

It is impossible for me to drive as I don't have a license, never had and never will, as i am disabled with very restricted mobility problems.

Am I still not bound by law to inform them who was driving ? and if possible what is the best way forward, I cannot afford this amount

Why on earth did you contact them - Read the stickies!

All you have done here taken their unenforcable, tiolet paper threats seriously and prolonged the chain of harrassment.

From now-on ignore these jokers totally. A quick search of this forum will show you what chancers they are.
  • I thought that what was suggested by putting a letter template for download,

    Err....:

    3) PPC charges have been shown to be generally unenforceable in Court, and they hardly ever issue proceedings, despite the threats in their intimidatory letters.

    4) Do NOT write to the PPC to 'appeal' the ticket - the appeals process is a complete sham, they just want your money and thus will reject the 'appeal'.

How does that suggest contacting them?

The template only applies to legit, legal parking enforcement - councils/police.
  • I hadn't read the forum, I got the original template letter etc from a link or something on another forum... I asked for some advice, not to have my mistake highlighted.

The advice is quite clear with these guys - ignore totally then ignore the letters from fake debt collectors/solicitors.

Now tell everyone you know about the scam! ;)

So you know what to expect, G24's scam letter chain is detailed about halfway down the first post on this thread:

  • Here is what I took my advice from

    Under this heading

How to fight private parking tickets

    and sub heading.

If you own the car but weren't driving

If you weren't driving, you're not liable and you've no need to tell who was
If you weren't the driver simply state that, as the owner, you're not liable for any costs, and you're not prepared to state who was driving and are under no obligation to do so. Hopefully, that'll get the message across and they won't contact you again. It's best to do this in writing so you have a record of what was said.
However, if you were driving don't be tempted to lie: it could land you in serious trouble in the unlikely event the case ever went to court and witness statements or CCTV proved the opposite.
If the firms contacts you again, write back politely asking them not to harass you, stating you've made it clear the ticket's nothing to do with you and it should back off. If it continues to hound you, resend the letter and threaten that you will report the matter to the authorities if they don't stop.
To help, here's a template covering all of the above situations:

gordo8 - whilst it would have been preferable to IGNORE from the outset, no harm has been done & YOU HAVE DONE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG in responding to these clowns.
The general advice for some time now on this & other forums has been to totally ignore these & other chancers of the same ilk.
The main thing is that from now on you do exactly that, no matter what threatening junk mail arrives thro' your letter-box (properly sealed court papers being an exception, BUT THAT AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN).
Yes, by responding you will no doubt now attract an extra amount of threatograms, but hey, no matter, that is all they are, just ignore as nothing will come of this & the letters will eventually stop.
Also, please stop worrying - there really is nothing to worry about.
Have a browse around this & other forums for added reassurance.

Note my username !!!! I've ignored two invoices from G24 so far.

You can safely ignore them - they won't do anything but send you yet more toilet paper.

Just to re-enforce the point, G24 lied to Nominet ( the internet domain name registar ) about their busniess address on at least two occasions when asked to update their details correctly - as per their CONTRACTUAL obligation. They have avoided paying VAT on their invoices - I have reported them to HMRC because of this. They don't even adhere to BPA guidelines.

Scammers through and through who have continually failed to PM me when challenged despite the fact they read this board - don't you G24 :D

You should now ignore them forever.
All aboard the Gus Bus !
  • Thanks guys, appreciate the responses, having not been out of hospital with heart problems, the slightest things seem to get me stressed out, things that I would have laughed at a few years.

I appreciate the help and advice
