I got the Christmas tin yesterday - scanned fine at £4.50.
The fruit picture shows some veg in it - so bought my usual mix of things and cashier said till wouldn't accept it... customer services gave it to me, after checking receipt!

Tesco does have some odd/inconsistent practices when in comes to fruit and veg coupons.

In the past I was told (even when referred to customer services) that I couldn't use a veg coupon for tomatoes because it's strictly a fruit - well that's fine but then why do they display them in the veg isle instead of with other fruit and I have to wonder if a fruit coupon really works for tomatoes (haven't tried).

On another occasion I bought a mixed salad with lettuce, carrots, beetroot etc and wasn't able to use the veg coupon - the explanation given by customer services was that Tesco issues separate coupons for salad (Oh really? Never seen one!) and therefore it's excluded for a veg coupon even though it doesn't say so!

Personally, I think they mostly just make things up and what we're typically told is a member of staff's guess/opinion rather than fact.

I cut all the vouchers out of my leaflet and went in yesterday to use up the ones I wanted - frozen food yogs hot chicken - the hot chickens were reduced so I got one and a half for £2.05 :) got my mullers which were on offer, used the free pizza coupons and the frozen food coupon, saw an oap with both the Thorntons and QS in her trolley and said to her "you using up your coupons too?" Turns out she didn't have any so I gave her mine and she was so grateful it made my day :D

Don't you just love it when you can do that? Waste paper to you, hard cash to someone else. I always try to give away my unwanted coupons. Most people catch on immediately that you're trying to hand them the equivelent of pound coins but I have had a couple of episodes where the recipient looks at you as if you're completely bonkers. :rotfl:

And no-one has ever given me a coupon out of the blue.....:(

Can't say I've ever been given coupons either, the £2 was much better in that old ladies purse then in Mr T's till :)
