Stain on dress...how to hide it?

Hi everyone

After the month long debacle of trying to get my dress from China it arrived yesterday :T

I had a good look at it last night and there is a stain on the back that I have no idea how to cover/hide it. It looks like someone has drawn on it to cover a green thread

It's not the biggest thing in the world but once I've taken my jacket/bolero off you will be able to see it and it's worrying me a bit:(

I only have 9 days (is it really 9 days?!) until I get married but I only have 3 days where I can do anything with it. I was thinking bling the top up a little with a few gem stones strategically placed

Can anyone suggest anything? Linda?

I THINK it's cotton but not sure how to check as it was custom made and there's no tags in it :(

I was also thinkig about getting a fabric pen and drawing a leaf or something over it but I'm not sure whether it would be right or not?

  • i would be tempted to draw a leaf over it too, make sure you practice on a scrap of fabric,i cant imagine what else you could do, unless you keep your bolero on
I am not bossy I just have better ideas:p

How about adding a fabric flower to cover it? http://www.bigfatcake.com/blog/2010/02/bridesmaid-dress-embellishments/

The thing is I'm worried that drawing on it would end up running like the previous one quite obviously had!

I would Maysie but it's in a rather difficult position

So just to clarify...the stain is on the BACK of the dress, not the front...so a brooch or something like that would be out....

I know its obvious to you...because you know its there...but is it obvious to anyone else when they look at the dress on...I know its easy for me to say its just a small mark...but it is on an important dress to you!....but if you draw attention to it then others will notice too..so it may require you putting it on and wearing it with confidence rather than focusing on the blemish

Is it something that you could use a felt tip stain remover on or in doing that will you show up the green thread more...

If its at the back...are you planning on a veil which would possibly cover it....or is it now something to consider...

From what I can see its a lovely dress and in some ways as its on the back and will be covered by your bolero for most of the time ...I would tend to try and forget about it...hopefully the photos will be front facing and if you dont point it out then its unlikely that anyone will make a comment...

LEJC It's one of those style dresses that is the same front and back if that makes sense so I could wear it at the front.

WHere would I get a felt tip stain remover?

I've tried EVERYTHING this morning; milk, hairspray, elbow grease and it looks better than it did but you can still see it.

I asked a friend of mine to look at it this morning and she pointed it out straight away :(

This is a 'better' picture of the whole dress
