Paternity Leave

Hi there, just wondering if anyone can help, my husband works in a factory and we are due to adopt a baby at the end of February, everyone else that he knows at work has had 3 days off paid Paternity Leave when theyv'e had their own natural child, but they are saying that it's not the same for adoption leave, and don't want to give him the time off.
Surely this isn't right and it's discriminating against you for adopting a child, has anyone else been in this position or does anyone know what we can do to prove that adoption paternity leave should be exactly the same as paternity leave with a natural child.
