Can anyone recommend gadgets which are worth the expenditure in that they pay for themselves - ie saving fuel.

I didn't actually pay anything for it, but my energy monitor certainly helped cut down electricity bills. (Awareness of how much was being used and when)0

turn yer thermostat down by 2 degrees and put a jumper on.
cost nowt, and you save a small fortune.
better still, go next door for coffee and use their heating.Get some gorm.0 -
a 2 or 3 tier steamer, A whole meal can be cooked in one of them instead of putting 4 hobs rings on.
Pays for itself in no time.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Thanks yes a steamer might do the trick. Also what about halogen ovens? Cooking for one, it might be a whole lot cheaper than switching on the oven.0

Don't buy ANY gadgets that claim to save you money......................0

I've found that my chest freezer and bread maker have paid for themselves within a year. The former due to the amount of special offers and whoopsies i am able to take advantage of and the latter because it works about half the cost to make your own bread. They also save me time on going to the supermarket all the time0

Remote control plug socket probably saves me a bit. Cost me a fiver for three and I have one on my bedroom TV; it's got the sky box, DVD player and TV plugged in.
If i didn't have it i'd just put the TV on standby overnight / when i go out but at the touch of a button it all turns off.0 -
owl if it worked.0

Gadgets are not, as a general rule, intended to save you money. They are intended to make money for the manufacturer.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
If you are water metered then a brick in your cistern and possibly one of those limiters on the shower flow too..... ( would never do that myself as I do like a decent shower)0
