Can a mod clear out the useless messages from the main free cinema tickets thread, I'm sick of getting email notifications because idiots cannot follow simple instructions.

Can you just ban people from the site! I have had so many emails today and only 1 was for tickets

    Will delete later

Thought I'd bring this to the top again and hopefully people will stop chatting on the ticket thread. It's really annoying when you think a screening has been posted and you just find some idle chatter! Please guys ?

    Just to bump it up;)

Saw Elizabeth tonight - thoroughly enjoyed it. Ok not factually correct, but hey, it was entertaining. Cate B is wonderful, and Clive Owen gave one of his better performances. Costumes superb, wonderful setting.....another great freebie.
    Thanks to all code posters:T
  • I saw Elizabeth yesterday, it was alright. I wouldn't pay to see it. I almost fell asleep a few times, though!

    Hi,

I wanted to ask if the london previews are very full?? I've never attended a london preview and I understand all previews are over-booked because of last minute cancellations, but how crowded is it in London? I've just received tickets for Lion for Lambs at the Curzon Soho, London and am wondering how early i should get there.

    Thanks.

ps: I also agree that it is annoying to get email notifications from the tickets thread and none are for previews... I'm really glad this has been sorted!!

They usually say arrive half an hour earlier. Although when I went to see Elizbeth on Wednesday, hardly anybody came (the cinema was only half-full), and they made us wait 15 minutes before they let us in. It really depends.

  • Surrey Quays was pretty full for Elizabeth.

Also, central London showings get quite full and with some people faking tickets, I'd get there for around the 6pm mark. Just pick up a free newspaper on the way and the time will fly by :p

I usually go to the screenings in Greenwich, the last three I've been to have only been half full (bit frustrating, I had friends who wanted to go). By that standard I usually get to the cinema about 5-10 minutes early as the films usually start promptly for 6.30pm (no room to manoeuvre with leeway for trailers).

However the Greenwich cinemas are a bit out of the way, I can imagine, that after a hard days work, people just think 'forget it'. Soho will probably have more people, so like others have already advised, I'd get there for 6pm to ensure you haven't had a wasted journey.

It depends where you live. I work in the city and live in Docklands, and Greenwich is dead handy for me. North Greenwich is on the fast Jubilee Line, and the bus frequency from North Greenwich station to the Odeon is amazing, I think there is a bus a minute! But yes, my Elizabeth screening there was only half full either. Let's see how many turn out for Brick Lane at Cineworld West India Quay on Monday.
