Ryanairs Bumpy Landings

That is because they add on 1/2 hour longer than the flight actually takes, then they can claim that the landed ahead of schedule.
To be honest I have no problem with this - I'm quite happy knowing when I can expect to be at the destination, even if the flight itself takes a bit less than that. I'd much rather have that than the experiences I've had with Easyjet, where the timetable seems to be regarded more as a suggestion...Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning0 -
Can anyone tell me why they always land with a bump. Couple of years ago when I first travelled with them to Dublin they landed really hard and a business man said he travelled every week with them and it's always the same. I've travelled with a few companies, Easyjet,Jet2,BA,SAS, and never experienced this. Yesterday I took 2 Ryanair flights and they both landed with a bump. Must be a valid reason but what? Many thanks for any advice.
Just need to apply logic here.
Heavy planes have heavier landings.
Chavs are heavier than normal people.
Chavs fly Ryan Air.
So Ryan Air has heavy landings.
Don't know why that popped into my head. Before anyone goes mental, I'm only joking and fly Ryan Air myself...
More seriously, Ryan Air have lower requirements for their pilots than the more costly airlines...it's not uncommon for a pilot to do their 500 hours (or however long it is, can't remember) that they require to join BA at one of the budget airlines then apply - and when they've gone to BA they get replaced with another new pilot..So you're relatively likely to have an inexperienced pilot on Ryan Air...
ETA: Not saying this is the reason, just putting it out there as a possibility

It's to 'wake up' their Scottish & Yorkshire customers who are pretending to be asleep to avoid having to buy a lottery card or cup of coffee.0 -
It's the only way to get the undercarriage to lock down. If they did a soft landing the U/C would collapse halfway up the runway. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

I thought it was to shake any change out of your pockets0

I was basing my quote on the fact that they add time onto what most airlines already say is the journey time. If they all carry on like this it will be a scheduled 4 hours to get to Paris soon.Bob_the_Saver wrote: »I think you'll find a lot of well known airlines do thatThe common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -

Definition of a GOOD landing:
One that you, and any other occupants of an aircraft can walk away from.
Definition of a GREAT landing:
One that you, and any other occupants of an aircraft can walk away from AND the aircraft is able to be used for another flight.0 -
have flown with Ryanair many, many times, can only ever recall 1 real bumpy/bad landing, so much so there was raised voices on the plane
however almost straight away the stewardess was on the tannoy to apologise, however half way through this, the captain butted in to also apologise
just took it as one of those things,0
