hiding my favourites?

hi all i share my laptop with my family and i am currently arranging a suprise holiday for my daughter, i would like to keep theinfo i find up my "favourites " tab on my laptop but obv dont want her to see , is there any way of keeping this info hidden , at the moment im keeping everything in a book which is a pain, ?

  • Have a separate account that's password protected.
  • if you're on XP in documents and settings\"username", there's a folder called favourites. Just remove the favourite from there and stick it on a memory card or copy it somewhere else on the PC. All favourites are, are a link to the website so it can be stored anywhere. You could even rename it to something she won't click on - such as HP Technical Help Center - if you're using a HP machine.
  • Better yet get a portable apps version of firefox/opera or whatever and run it from a USB stick http://portableapps.com/
