there wasn't a windows 97, but it's done well to last you so long

Laptops - I'd advise you to try them in the shop, check you are comfortable with the keyboard layout, the touchpad, mouse buttons, weight, sound, screen etc, then look for deals. Anything you buy will be far more powerful than that machine, and easily capable of the usual tasks - they don't generally come with office though

Sorry Take This, I didn't mean to offend it was an oversight on my behalf.

Former Student that does look interesting but there are no software packages on it and I'm looking for MS Office or something similar which is about £90.

Windows 97 with 64 MB of RAM is what my PC has.

I'd be concerned about getting a PC off Ebay has they will not have a warranty.

There is only one left. Order it now. You'll have seven working days to evaluate it. If you don't like it, you can return it for a full refund.

It has a much better spec than the machine linked to above.

No offence taken...just don't want you to miss out on a relative bargain.

    Don't worry about the software.

    :D

Here is the original Argos link. Perhaps not the most beautiful machine, but a decent design with good connectivity.

it should still run/boot quite fast, provided not too many things loading at startup, old virus scanners etc.

If it lasts that long. :)

Why spend that much if it isn't necessary?

Because you ( nor I ) know what is round the corner ....The one thing I am happy to predict is that whatever it is ..it won't be less resource hogging.
