Since the Halifax had their changeover ? the w/e of 12/13th I haven't been able to access my on-line account from this PC using Internet Explorer. I can access it via my OH's laptop which is Internet Explorer and from this PC using Firefox. Anyone have any idea why this could be as I haven't a clue. I contacted the Halifax helpdesk but although they e.mailed back to say they would deal with the problem within 24 hours I have heard nothing since and as I can access the account as stated, I guess the trouble is with this PC and not at their end. BTW I get a message above the sign in page that says its blocked because its not a secure site.

This can happen if the browser cache is corrupt in some way
Internet Explorer 8 and above- From the Safety menu in the upper right(may be the general tab), click Delete Browsing History... .
- Deselect Preserve Favorites website data, and select Temporary Internet files, Cookies, and History.
- Click Delete.

The above will probably take off any saved log in information, so make sure you have a note of those0 -

This has the manual instructions to reset IE or you can run their automatic fix

As per the answer here, check windows update, optional updates for root certificate update(s) If there are any, install those

Hello you said "BTW I get a message above the sign in page that says its blocked because its not a secure site."
Check the time and date on your PC, I bet a pound to a pinch of security certificate that the date is wrong and the battery is flat on the motherboard.

I have tried the ccleaner and have defraggled. Have tried everything suggested on the microsoft helpline and have deleted history and cookies. I have updated to latest IE and am apparently not running any addons (not that I know what they are anyhow). I have added Halifax website to my trusted sites. Nothing has helped and I am still getting that message. Thankfully I can access via Firefox but its irritating nonetheless. I use AVG as a firewall and although this may be a dumb question, do you think this might be blocking it and if so why would it be blocked on IE and not on Firefox.Mortgage and Debt free but need to increase savings pot. :think:0
