Hi,
What's the best way to remove paint from light switches and plug sockets?
It would be handy to know what removes different types of paint, I have tile paint (like a gloss) on them.

nail varnish remover with cotton wool works wonders on plactic/glass surfacesTHE SHABBY SHABBY FOUNDER0

But have a damp cloth handy to wipe over it straight afterwards, or it can melt plastic.0

Absolutely, once made the mistake of answering phone during home manicure and melted bits of it!
The paint probably isn't sticking that well to a plastic surface anyway. You could try rubbing at it gently with one of those pan scrubs that is OK for non stick surfaces - Vileda and others do them - lightly dampened with a detergent. If it's really thick gently break down the top of the surface of the paint with a blade/scraper, without going through to the plastic, first.0 -
Try a stanley blade...be careful though!£900 towards next holiday...ta very much Mr T x0

To be honest, I'd just get some new ones. I bought 5 light switches from B&Q for under £3 and sockets can be bought for a similar price.0
