They are doing upgrade tonight - hey how about upgrading to a system they need to maintain twice weekly.:(
"Online service availability
We are carrying out a system upgrade tonight. This means that from 19:00 until 21:00, 3 October 2011 you won't be able to access our online services (including valuations) for the Skandia Investment Solutions accounts listed below:
- Individual Savings Account (ISA)
- Collective Investment Account (CIA)
- Collective Retirement Account (CRA)
- Collective Investment Bond (CIB)
If the maintenance work completes ahead of schedule we'll be back up and running sooner. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused."
Just logged in - it was back up and running, and the valuation report actually seems to work - previously switching always seemed to throw it way off beam.0 -
Hi Gatser, is this a Skandia self-select SIPP set up by an IFA? Remember you discussing potential providers some time ago.
If so would be interested to know how you get on with any DIY purchase of funds, etfs, shares, i.e. dealing and annual costs for holding them. Any idea how Skandia annual costs on a selection of funds compare with other providers

Hi James... well remembered!
I have the Collective Retirement Account (Personal Pension) which is very good for holding self select funds. No switching costs.
Sorry, I did compare costs at the time but I cannot say if others are cheaper for specific funds... I am no expert!
I found the IFA (CLUBFINANCE) excellent, both in terms of service and value for money. Don't take my word for it though, check them out.
Good luck
ps I do have a SIPP that I use for cash deposits, although interest rates are not exciting at present. Always looking for new ideas to earn an extra %THE NUMBER is how much you need to live comfortably: very IMPORTANT as part 1 of Retirement Planning. (Average response to my thread is £26k pa)0
