Central Capital/Central Trust

Hello all. I'm new to the forums, and I hope I don't come across as being rude, just jumping in seeking advice!
I have just come across my paperwork from a remortgage I took out in April 2005 with Central Capital. I was reading through it, and it seems I was mis-sold PPI with this particular loan. I thought about claiming, and went about finding out how to do this.
I sold my house and settled the mortgage about 16 months after taking it out - around about August 2006. So, although I took the loan out just over 6yrs ago, it was still active, so I thought "what the heck, go for it!"
So, and here's where I came unstuck, I printed off the Ombudsman Claim Form and started to fill it out. I flicked back to my paperwork to get the essential bits, and low & behold NO WHERE on my paperwork is there a policy number. Not even on their letters pushing for my signature. I can only assume that the papers I had to sign and send back contained the number.
I was just wondering, does anyone know if I were to write to Central Trust PLC and request details such as my policy number, would they be obliged to give this to me? Especially considering the time passed since I signed on that dreaded dotted line.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Kind regards
