The NewYorker is really handy for the train.
I stayed there a while ago during their refit and it was fine. We had a huge room with a view of the ESB. The subway was literally right outside and Penn just across the road.
We usually walked to Times Square-in the rush hour it was quicker than a cab (one evening going to show half of us cabbed it and the others walked-The walkers got there first
