Fitness First Cancellation Period????HELP!!!

Options
Hi all,

Anyone had any experience with this 10-day Comfort Guarantee with Fitness First? I signed up for the gym today on a 12month membership and have just glided through the contract and noticed i am entitled to a ten day cooling of period which allows me to cancel said membership within that time....Anyway, i have reviewed the membership and i will not be able to keep up with the payments, i am a full time student at university and id like to cancel my membership.

Can anyone who may have been through this process or knows the in's and out's please help me out or tell me the right way to approach this!

Many Many Thanks
Ed

You need to follow THEIR cancellation process. Nobody here can tell you what that is without seeing your contract -- read it, it is likely in there.

If you still can't find it, telephone them and ask AND send a recorded letter to head office AND the gym requesting to cancel the contract.

Keep the proof of delivery in a safe place as gyms are notorious for 'not receiving cancellation notices'
  • arcon5 is right...read what the Ts and Cs say about cancellation and follow it to the letter including ensuring you meet the time scales and put things in writing if necessary. The process should be pretty clearly laid out for you.
Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!

make sure you get proof you handed in the cancellation - otherwise you might find they say they never received it

if it involved having to go into the gym and getting someone to sign to say they have received it then do that.
