Performance would benefit from a reinstall too, there is a lot of bloat on there - any particular reason for the reluctance?

Do you have a disc, a means of backup, a factory restore partition?

reinstalls are usually a last resort, but if your bank account really has been hit via the pc, it's the most sensible thing to do, and often faster than scanning with every AV under the sun.

You using an outdated OS that probably hasn't seen any security updates for a while. Support for XP without SP3 ended some time ago on July 13, 2010.

An unsupported version of Windows will no longer receive software updates from Windows Update. These include security updates that can help protect your PC from harmful viruses, spyware, and other malicious software, which can steal your personal information.

Service pack 3 included many security updates, and there have been many since. Without it you're pretty much a sitting duck where malware is concerned.

That coupled with the P2P use (BitComet) makes for one unsafe machine where Internet Banking & malware is concerned.
