Morrisons Miles - small but annoying rant

Normally fill up at the pay at the pump because [STRIKE]I am a lazy cow[/STRIKE] the queues in the kiosk are usually long. Anyway, I've had two Miles points cards and neither of them have worked right in the card slot at the pump. On the odd occasion, they go through, but more often than not, they ask you to put the card in, pull it out, put it back in, do a little jig, run around the car three times and then do a backwards somersault!

So the last couple of times, I've pushed the button to say that I don't have my card on me so when I'm forced to use the kiosk, I can annoy the cashiers and the queue behind me by asking them to put the points on manually. Looking at the receipts I've got, it has two headings at the bottom:

Points this transaction: 190
Points not collected: 165

So where the heck have the 25 points gone to? Have Morrisons nicked em for themselves? Is it one huge scam?

I want the points I earned, dammit!

I would be on the phone to lawyers for advice on this situation.
  • Perhaps Morrissons do this just to annoy people.
  • Is it because pay at the pump transactions attract bonus/extra/higher rate points because they don't take time of cashiers and morrison's want to incentivise this type of transaction?

If the points need to be added manually because someone forgot their card then it does take cashier time so the extra points are deducted?
Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!
  • But the problem is that the pump doesn't take the card, therefore I am forced to say I "forgot" my card as it's either that, forego all of the points, or try the card about 20 times, with a huge queue behind me.

  • As I was bored, I emailed Morrisons to ask where those 25 points mysteriously vanished to. They didn't give me an answer, just a standard "we're sorry that you are having problems...." email.

I think it's a scam, and I am calling my solicitor on Monday!

Must admit that doing the cards at Morrisons pumps seems very slow and I've lost points in frustration or the frustration of others waiting for the pump!

My Morrisons Miles card doesn't work at Pay at Pump either, but I hate the layout of their petrol station anyway so on the rare occasions I go I donate the points to my daddy
