Hi
My daughter is going abroad to europe to work for the winter. her wages need to be paid into a UK bank account. What is the best account to use to reduce charges for withdrawing cash abroad. Can anyone advise?

Nationwide flex account is pretty good
  • thank for that will look into it.
  • I own a security company, and when I travel abroad for work or pleasure I try taking my Capital One card.

We are in France more than the UK and the Nationwide Flex account USED to be best but not they now charge! So any bank account with a separate no charge credit card like the Halifax Clarity paid in full each month is best for purchases, plus if you use it to draw cash from an ATM and immediately repay this into the card your fees will be very small. That is what we do, you can draw £500 a day. Make sure all transactions are in € as some places make a big profit by charging UK cards in £.
Just thought if you go for a Halifax bank account with their card you get cash rewards.
