  • The coupon is for buy one get one free, (not "one free for every one you buy")and it says only one coupon per household - so it sounds as if the manager was right!

To get round this problem, you could go in a party of 4 (with 2 coupons) and ask for two separate bills.

There were FOUR of us, and we had TWO coupons, which means we were entitled to TWO FREE meals.
The supervisor said if we had sat on two separate tables with two bills, it would have been O.K.

    How stupid is that?

It may be annoying that you didn't read the Conditions before using the coupon, but it's hardly fair to call Ramsden's stupid!

The coupon clearly states that you get one free meal, and that you can only use one coupon:
cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer

Once the bill had been made up for your party and you tried it on with them by giving them 2 coupons, then it was too late!

Anyway, let us know what Trading Standards had to say.

It wasn't ANOTHER OFFER, it was ONE OFFER, i.e., BUY ONE GET ONE FREE.

If there are four people eating and we had TWO vouchers, that means two people pay and two people don't.

    P.S.
We didn't 'try it on' at all - the Manager had, over an hour earlier, checked our vouchers and agreed that we could use the COLOURED ONES. Mine were black and white and he thought they had been photocopied - which they hadn't.

Surely if it is good enough for the Manager to say it was O.K., it could be assumed that the supervisor would do her job properly.

Do you work for Harry Ramsden's by any chance?
  • I used my voucher in the Blackpool branch

    Warning

Dont ever Bother going in there !

Our Chips were hard and not cooked properly and the fish they gave us was smaller than a kids portion !

Im just glad that i had not paid full price for them both !

Complaint letter is on its way

I agree with CSCS that HR are being very anal in their interpretation of the conditions. Most places with BOGOF deals would accept that 4 customers with 2 vouchers would get 2 meals free.

And the black and white printing thing has affected me before now. It is pathetic that they assume that anyone who has a black and white printer is a fraudster, whilst ignoring the fact that anyone (with a colour printer - i.e. not me) can scan a colour coupon and print millions of copies on their colour bubble jet with impunity. DOH!

Thanks for that Marky - I was getting a bit paranoid!! Yes, I agree about the printing - I was in fact called a liar with presenting black and white vouchers!
