Is your DFW one sided?

We do this too, we halve the bills and put both into the pot. That way my DF partner isn't held back by my debt. But in our situation I'd sit him down and talk it out. It's not fair for him to go out buying stuff when there's still the JOINT debt to worry about. Just because it's in your name doesn't mean he doesn't pay his share! I bet if the card was in his name he'd be more worried about it!
Sit him down and tell him how you feel. This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

It's just one of us (i.e. me) is intent on paying them off, the other isn't that bothered about a £1600 credit card debt as it's only a little other one of our monthly wages. He doesn't see that £10 here or there will affect the balance (sometimes I paid £6 off the credit card) as every little helps.
It's not all one sided but 3 months of being extra focussed by both of us would make us credit card debt free!
I didn't mean to sound harsh, but I've been left carrying the burden myself in the past and it seems unfair to me to have you in that position.
Even if it is a joint debt it is in your name, and he needs to still be responsble for it.Retired in 2015.
