Well done! Was it the same people that upped their offer or someone new?
That was quick!!!!!!
Fingers crossed for a quick and easy (do they exist??) sale until completion!0 -
Yup!
They offered the first price, which we turned down, then 2k more, which we turned down, then 1k more which we turned down.
Then i got an attack of the collywobbles and we countered with 0.5k more. They accepted!
So, they came back round on sunday morning, had a lovely chat, sorted out timings etc. She told me we drove a hard bargain and we set she did too, and we all laughed.
Anyway, our neighbours aren't very happy about it, but what can we do? I refuse to apologise for selling, which we've made clear that we wanted to do (what with the for sale board etc!) but i hate the bad feeling.
Anyway, fingers crossed nothing will go wrong in our one link chain, and we'll move in january when their funds (guaranteed, so no panics) come though. We can't exchange until January for this reason, but she said yesterday that if we're all in agreement and get our solicitors talking, we can exchange and complete at about the same time in jan and get moved! YAY!
We just need to work out at which point to start looking at rental places, when is too soon, and when is too late!!saving up another deposit as we've lost all our equity.

Well done! When all is said and done, your neighbours would have done the same.

You can start looking for a rental now. Just don't sign anything until you've exchanged. Letting agents will know which properties might be coming free to rent in three or four months time.0 -
Im a bit confused. Is this the people you said offered a silly price, then a slightly less silly price, but in the end they've only offered a couple of grand more to go from silly to acceptable?0

When you're house is as cheap as ours is, a couple of grand makes a big difference

Get things moving with the legals January sounds like a long way off but is in fact about 12 weeks!0 -
Well not just helpful, but money we're not going to have to scrabble together before completion, just to hand back to the bank!
It's not long at all really, i just wish we knew more about the rental side of things, we're a bit green on that, so I'm going to do a bit of research. References for example - can this be an employer?saving up another deposit as we've lost all our equity.
