Redundancy and MY claim for PPI to cover my loan

My employer had to make 3 redundancies. He asked if anyone wanted to go and my partner and i said we would. However he said ou redundancy wascompulsory as more than enough people put there names forward. We are now claiming on our PPI policy for a loan do you think they might refuse it as we did say we were prepared to go although others did as well

You will have to check the terms of your policy. For some employment law purposes, voluntary redundancy is viewed in the same way as compulsory redundancy, but that does not necessarily read across to your PPI policy.

Talk to your employer, when they were asking for people to take voluntary redundancy they said they would let anyone know that it was compulsory, put it on forms etc.

When we went through a consultation earlier this year we were advised we may have had to 'exhaust all avenues of appeal' if we had a PPI policy, with the suggestion that if you didn't appeal the insurance company would use that as an excuse not to pay out. Volunteers were certain to be turned down for a payout....
