Barclays Plan B credit card insurance

Hi
I'm wondering if you anyone can give me some advise.
I have a Barclaycard with their plan b insurance for sickness and unemployment. On the 11th of August I was involved in an accident at work and disclocated my elbow. My doctor has signed me off for four months and Barclays insurance have accepted the claim. However this is where the problem starts they take the balance of your card from the previous months statement in this case July 14th my balance was £668. However on the 1st of August I did a balance transfer of £6500 to this card so my balance on the day of my accident was around £7348. I didn't know this was the case and thought they would take the balance of your card on the day of the accident. They have informed that no it's done from the previous months statement when I questioned this and said "what if my balance was £0 last month" they informed me I would of got nothing. What's the point of having insurance? Any suggestions as their payments now do not meet my minimum payment.

I am sorry to hear about your misfortune further complicated by "small print" problems from Barclays.
Was the balance insured on the card it came from? Could you claim against that insurance as the balance in that account at the last statement date would include the £6500.0
