Harrods Online - Hopeless!

I thought I would treat the OH to a Moulton Brown gift set for her birthday next week (45 shhhhh
) and for a silly twist thought I would get it from Harrods (eww posh).
Anyway placed the order in plenty of time on 29/12/06 for £49.95 inc postage. Got confirmation email - fair enough.
Jump to 10/1/07 sent email enquiring when I will receive order - no reply.
13/1/07 sent email enquiry again, finally got a reply today (16/1/07), gift set out of stock and cannot get any more in.
Plus they have debited my card £27 odd on 12/1/07 and "A full refund will be processed as soon as possible on your Visa card." That's big of them!:mad:
What is the legal position on taking money (wrong amount or otherwise) from a card when they have no stock?
My first (and last) purchase from Harrods has been a total disappointment - incompetent buffoons!

I've been refunded :j........... the wrong amount. They have kept £4.95 postage for something they never sent in the first place!!
I must have been lucky over the years because for such a "poncy" store with a so called reputation they are the most incompetent company I have ever dealt with online.0 -
Have you asked them why or if they intend to refund the total? If they wont budge speak to your card issuer and see if they are able to do a chargebackWeight Loss - 102lb0
