Tax credit process

Hi, I'm new to the forum and wondered if you could help me with a question about tax credits please...?
I'm disabled, and my husband has recently returned to work. He has a main job that he's settled in, but in order to trigger tax credits he also took an extra job. He is desperately unhappy in this job, and is seeking a replacement extra job. Our concern is, we are in the process of claiming tax credits, so will this change of job affect the claim?

I'm sorry, I got the question wrong, all this stuff is so complex. Ok, basically, if my husband was to switch from his current top-up job, to working self employed, how would that affect the claim whilst he is building up his new part time business? We're confident that it will create income in a short space of time, but in that initial adjustment period where there will be very little income from it, how does this affect tax credits? Thank you.
