Motorlink UK/Motorsearch UK
Just wondered if anyone had had any dealings with car advertising companies like Motorsearch UK or Motorlink UK.
If you have ever advertised your car for private sale (in Auto Trader for example) you will have had numerous calls from them, saying they have 'five buyers ready to buy your car and willing to pay the asking price' and all it costs you is £80/£99 and you get that back if the buyer takes credit through the company.
Now, we jave struggled to sell our car even though the asking price is reasonable and it is a sought-after car (Mercedes SLK), I think people are just wary of private sellers, I know I would be!
Motorlink etc advertside your car 'until it is sold' and we are not in any real rush (the 0% credit card we bought it on runs out in October) so i was wondering is it worth it as it costs £50 to advertsise for two weeks in Auto Trader and that could go on forever...
The thing is, if five buyers are 'waiting to buy our car' why can't they look in the Auto Trader where it is clearly advertised?
Also some of these companies offer secured loans to their clients to buy the car, that is just unethical and I would feel so bad!

my experience with companies like this is that they are talikng rubbish. stick with the auto trader, its where they got your number from. or go for the auto trader online www.autotrader.co.uk I think its about £15 for a web only ad. don't forget your local tesco etc. for free or nearly free ads and we have a the adtrader up here, which is free to advertise in.
good luck
