Legally, lodgers have no security of tenure so you can ask her to leave immediately if you wanted to. Regardless of whatever terms and conditions there might be in this lodger's agreement.

I agree with that but I've got a soft heart, make it half an hour, that should give her time to move her stuff.

    Hiya - Just an update!

Well I said to her yesterday it wasnt working out and she would have to find somewhere else. She got really upset and went to stay with her sister. Her sister put the lodger in her car and came in saying instantly "This doesnt have anything to do with XXXX does it???? (the boyfriend). Apparently he has caused an amazing amount of problems and all her family hate him. Her sister is livid that **** has messed up staying at my house and completely understands why I am asking her to leave and will sort everything out.

So it seems I wont be having any more problems and the lodger has agreed the bf wont be back until she moves out.

I almost feel a little bit guilty - stupid I know!!!!

Thanks for all your help guys :)

I begin to think that the lodger is a little bit too wild for her family and that the boyfriend is more to do with rebelling against her family than anything else.

No need to feel guilty. You could feel a bit sorry for her, but it isn't on for her to inflict her family rebellion onto your home
