Can I switch supplier whilst I have a card meter?

Hi I now have a card meter supplied by E.ON for my Gas. I had racked up a debt with them of about £1k. This happened when I moved into my new home and I simply didn't do anything about the gas, electricity or the water. Thankfully I managed to get the water under control and I paid large chunks of money to my duel-fuel…

d0nnyoz, additional point might be worth taking into consideration, depending on actual consumption, Eon for ppm gas are about the cheapest provider, so I can understand if you have some bad feeling toward the company but a change of supply would not guarantee any reduction in the cost of gas consumed now.
