Annuel consumption gas/elec Help Please

hi currently with Eon going onto EON save online 3 tariff and paying about 165 a month for both, now when on price comparisons websites and typing my annual consumption that i worked out e.g

9th OCT 10----82647 ELECT
9th OCT 10----8939 GAS

upto latest give or take a week

28th Sept 11
88724 ELECT
28th Sept 11
9606 GAS

so we have used 6077 KWH of electric this year and 667 units of gas

now when on the price comparisons sites when i type in my annual consumption 6077 {elect} 667{gas}

for example Scottish Power comes out at 679 annual price which works out at 59 a month,106 cheaper than eon--

You need your gas consumption in kWh, not units.

  • ah i see thanks so is this how i work kWh of gas out then

    Gas KWh =667 x 39.4 x 1.02264/3.6

    =7465

    thanks
  • Hi blu ray

Check out one of your bills. There's a section called Key Facts (usually on page 2) which will tell you the annual consumption of both fuels in kWh.

Hope this helps. Give me a shout if you need any more info as will be happy to help.

I suspect (for you to confirm) you have an imperial meter. If so you need to multiply the meter units by 32 (not the 11.2 for metric meter units).

You say you are "going onto Eon Save Online 3" but that is a legacy tariff. I am assuming you are already on it and the rates are being "extended". In fact comparisons using SO3 show it to be a similar price to the current equivalent SO10. There isn't much currently cheaper but look out for Scottish Power Online Energy Saver 15.

May be worth revisting the comparison with the correct gas usage.
