Proper free range, or Happy Egg "free range"?
  • Did the SEL say 44p OP? In my local tesco metro the SEL said £1.69

    Thanks :)
  • I think that's besides the point

Eh what are you on? Of course it's not besides the point the other post was making. In the grand scheme of things besides the point maybe but the point raised was being addressed by that comment!

They're 44p in my local Ts Express tonight - own brand free range, not "happy" eggs, large size. Not marked as a special offer or anything, just randomly much cheaper than usual. I only noticed at the till to be honest - was buying in a hurry cos I'd forgotten I said I'd bake cakes for a charity sale tomorrow. I did go back and check and the SEL said 44p but definitely no promo stuff out. Will probably go back and get more tomorrow. Omelettes all round! ;)
  • are these the happy eggs? they were 50%free last week

You mean 3 eggs were free and the other 3 full price? :D

I scanned 5 different brands of free range eggs in T Extra last night and all were full price.
  • I bought 6 free range eggs yesterday from Tescos for 89p

On the box it said eggs of varying sizes. So supposed that's why they were cheaper, but I opened the box and they seemed all the same size to me.

I was pleased at 89p ! Would have been more than happy to have a box of eggs not all the same size too.

But then I'd be happy if my apples, carrots, potatoes, whatever were different sizes ! As long as they taste nice size doesn't matter !
