Best Western Query

I'm new to all this booking online stuff so just wanted to clarify something (which when you hear, will probably sound stupid.
).
With booking hotels on the Best Western website, am I right in thinking that they take your credit/debit card details as a sort of guarantee and then you pay in full at the hotel after your stay?
And with Advance Purchase, you pay on the website in full (so don't have to pay at the hotel) but it's not refundable or amendable?
I just wanted to make sure that I understood correctly.:o

Depends on the hotel, as they are all independent they operate to their own rules. When booking all ask for your CC details. Most then swipe your CC when you arrive and then you pay when you leave or earlier if you exceed a credit limit. Some insist on payment when you arrive, the you pay for extras meals, bar etc when you leave, but these are in the minority.
Best Western Diamond card holder, I use them quite a bit.0
