if you have an electric oven ensure switch on wall off too and electric shower turn the power off to that - there should be a pull cord leading to a socket with light on it - two small things we all forget.

flick the fuseboard master `OFF` to kill power completely to everything??

For the supplier to investigate theft it must be either, theft by meter tamper or direct mains connection. If its recording the supplier wont get involved as its metered. As others have said you are best getting a private sparky to check the wiring / consumer unit.

Unless its before the meter or the meter is tampered they wont get involved

- photograph the meter
- switch off all power at the fuseboard / CU
- test your [ circuits ] lights / oven / TV - all dead are they ?

- leave it off for [ at least 8 hours ] as many hours as you can
- then photograph the meter before you switch it on
- then post the photo's on here !

If someone has been messing about with the ' tails ' this side of the meter it will show
