 Hi everyone
Can anyone tell me how long it has to be before you can go back to one of your old credit card providers after you have closed your account? E.g if I closed my Mint Card 8 months ago, could I re-apply?
Thanks...!

RBS is 8 months from closure date. (Mint, RBS, Natwest etc).0

You can reapply anytime. Usually the odds on being accepted increase after 6-12 months

Because you're 'connected' (I believe?), I quoted you the other day on the stoozing website.Phoenix79 wrote:HSBC is 3 months if i recall correclty.
Another stoozer questioned your 3 months figure because he'd just been told 6 months by HSBC card services.
It'd be nice to get a definitive answer on this one Phoenix (if you could, please?).0 -
Yeah I work in the group but not in banking at all.
When i asked HSBC card services about whether I could apply for the 0% BT until April 08 Mastercard depsite already having a HSBC Gold Visa I was told I couldn't (they couldn't even bend the rules for me!). I was informed I would have to close my old card and wait 3 months before I could apply. Only then would i be treated as a 'new' customer.
I'll try to find out whether the 3 month figure is for staff only or everyone. My colleague next to me got accepted today and he got 0% on BT's until May 08, not April and 9 months 0% on purchases not 6 months. This was purely a staff special offer (so special none of us knew about it!)0
