What to do in January for newbie gardners

Got 2 raspberry canes and 2 blueberry canes yesterday.
Can they be planted in pots ?? Or do they have to go into the ground ??0 -

Blue berrys need ericasous compost so do best in pots, unless you know the ph of your soil that is.
Raspberry canes - it depends on what type they are as to whether they will do well in the pot or not. I'm trying them for the firsttime thi syear so someone with more experience will I'm sure be able to help0 -

Thanks... will definately do the blueberries in pots then as I dont know the ph of my soil
The raspberry is "rubus idaeus"
It does say on the packaging that it is suitable in any garden0 -
I think its the autumn fruiting raspberries that can go in a pot but no idea if yours is. Try a bit of googling LOL
