How does the decision process work for JSA?

Hi,
So I applied for JSA online and went for the interview a few days ago and got the sign in booklet etc but when I got home I looked into the types of JSA you can get and realized that I would fail the CB JSA(not enough NIC) but I have got the next sign in date booked and I know for a fact the claim will be denied. What I want to know is why do they set up an interview for you and give you a sign in date when they don't even know the claim will go through? do they automatically put you on IB JSA? I have no kids, single, currently live with a parent no savings or any other benefits coming in.
Thanks

A claim for jsa is a claim to jsa, providing you haven't conceded the existence of a material fact that would preclude entitlement to an income based allowance you will be assessed for both elements0
