[STRIKE]Is this an old 360 with the adapter on the back? If so, it might be worth checking the wire that you connect the adapter to the console. Mine is really iffy; I have to have it in a certain position on the front of console while laying on the top of the console. UGH![/STRIKE]

Might be worth checking the connections of other items, like a laptop, to your network in the same places; you could just be getting interference.

I highly recommend a wired connection as it is:
    1) faster (increased ping rates and less lag),
    2) more secure (it's a lot harder to hack into a cable connection then guessing your passwords),
    3) more stable (you'll get a lot less disconnections to the router and within your gaming),
    4) cheaper (it costs approx. £60 for the adapter, but £30 for 30 foot of cable),
    5) easier to maintain (no moving parts/electrics to overheat etc),
    6) easier to set up (plug it in and off you go!)

Hope this helps. If you have any more problems with your consoles don't hesitate to PM me; I get asked all types at work, so nothing is too stupid or small, :)

Edit: Just re-read your post and noticed you have a new style 360...

It might be worth seeing if you can try connecting the xbox to your network using a different router... you can get basic ones for about £10 upwards (depends on make, model, brand etc). If you're still experiencing problems it'll either be your xbox or your network settings (I doubt the latter as you say you can connect elsewhere).

You could also try connecting the xbox to a different network; maybe a friend's house or another family member. If this seems fine and your router isn't the problem, I'd talk to your ISP and see if they can talk you through any advanced settings that could help with your connection.
Proud to be dealing with my debts!

hi can anyone explain how to get into reouter by pc so i can see whats happening,
type your ip address into your internet browser bar ie firefox or IE9 enter your log in details then you be in your router settings, i dont suggest messing about unless you no what your doing mind you if anything messes up you can just reset the router by the back where you have to poke something small and hold the little button for 10 seconds to reset.
