Nissan Micra used car prices
Hi All
My friends' Nissan Micra (N reg) has just failed its MOT and is destined for the breakers yard.
She has just spotted a Nissan Micra Urbis (2005) at a dealers, priced at £3300. The body of the car is in good condition and the engine compartment is clean.
Will take it for a test drive tomorrow probably and may make an offer. Have just checked the book price at Parkers' on-line which is stated to be £2620 (for a private dealer). This is a difference of £680 from the asking price.
Would be grateful if anyone could give any advice in negotiating with a dealer. Have only bought from a private seller before. Obviously don't want to be a mug and pay more than we have to.
Is the Parkers' price a good base line to start from? Will the dealer expect us to pitch a lower offer?

A Nissan Micra 1.2 Urbis 2005 (05) with 48,000 miles on the clock has a Glasses trade price of £2,365, retail price of £3,240. You could use the Parker's price to put in a cheeky offer though
HTH...

Cash is king, make an offer they can not refuse.
They are cracking little cars.
However Dont do deposits ! set a price take the full amount and pay in one go and never sign a receipt, it becomes a contract limiting your rights.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. This is the sad part. It is still running great and she will sob when she has to let it go. But the MOT does not lie. We have had a second opinion and it would be too much hassle to repair. There were several failures on the bodywork like seat belt and suspension mountings plus brake pipes. Two pages of failures. We had no idea it was so sick. The MOT guy went a funny colour when I asked him if he could give me an idea of what it would cost to fix.0 -
