  • HI TL,

It seems like a stressful time at the moment. Having a new baby, is an emotional roller coaster ride at the best of times.

You need to maximise income and minimise out goings. I would be wary about pumping more money into the business. Keep working on your SOA.

Don't beat yourself up about what's done. It's now all about taking small positive steps forward.

It does not take money to be a great husband and a great dad.

Keep posting. Look after yourself and enjoy your family as much as possible.

    I wish you well.

If they're not already, I think it would be helpful to seperate the business finance from your own. Then take a look at the business. Can you run it part time, evenings and weekends, so you can work full time? If your wife's at home, could she do anything to help with the business during the daytimes?

Also, with the baby, make sure you're claiming all the tax credits etc that you're entitled to.

Hi all, first step taken as I have spoken with CCCS today and booked a tele chat next wednesday. I am planning to speak to the 4 creditors tommorow to pay something and update them with my file number also. I am still unsure of what to do and what will happen but I know I am putting of the inevitable. When I think back to the days of being in my boring safe well paid job with no debts I could kick myself.
But going forward I guess, I still don't know how to broach this with my wife or whether to stay confidential and get everything set up first.

How long does it take to sort a DMP which has been recommended?

also I need to seek some help from someone who can understand my brain better than me as I want to change, anybody know how I go about this?

I am also planning to sort the businesses out as well as it has been a big drain finacially and emotionally. I am looking at getting extra work at Tescos or similar alongside my other paid job or trying to work there full time. Will keep you updated

Following my CCCS chat I have now made contact with Egg,Halifax and Mint and spoken with them. They were all quite nice which I did not expect given the relentless phone calls I have recieved. I have paid them a little cash as well. Have got the phone call booked for next week so will see what happens next. Do feel a bit better and once it is all in place I will then talk to my wife.

Thanks all for guidance so far
