My Chrysler voyager has just come back from the garage (not a chrysler garage) following a bump, with the factory fitted dvd player not recognising dvd's.
They also switched of the radio, but i had a code for that written down in the manual. It is a Mopar dvd player, and now when i put in a dvd it says wrong region ?
I have been on to the mopar site but there is no relevant information. we have read the instructions and re read them and are both baffled, does anyone know of a car techie, electrics place in south wales that may be able to help ?
Stratston Cardiff charge £110 for the privalage and said they would need to take the whole system out to check it over ? not necessary surely ? ?

If it worked when it went in but doesn't after they fiddled with the car then make them fix it!0

they are refusing to help, have been back to garage and have also been on to the insurance company, both totally ignorant and unhelpful, however the garage did fix my oil leak for free.
Have rang through to another chrysler dealership now( in Swansea) and they have offered to look at at it, and explained what is involved to get it up and running, they charge far far less than Stratstone, but im going to have to bite the bullet and pay !0 -
Sounds like it has defaulted to the region it was manufactured in, have you got a region free dvd disks you can try (many documentary disks are region free)?
You might want to try and doing a search on the net to see if there is a code for changing or removing the region block, many home players are multi region but blocked to region 2 (Europe) when sold in the UK, a simple code sequence inputed through the handset is usually all it takes for a domestic DVD player to change the lock, I am not sure is the same applies to in-car units but you never know. I would guess the dealers know exactly what the problem is and will have it sorted very quickly but it will come at a price.Signature No Longer acceptable -

may not be what your looking for, but many dvd players will let you change the region via 'secret' codes on the remote
hit google searching for the make & model and the word hack

Like above, try a region 1 dvd and see if it plays. It does sound like it has reset itself. If region 1 does not work try region 0, then region 3 (available from CDWOW)
This is not much help

Suggest if you get crysler to do it ask them for the code or procedure so you can do it yourself, tell them it is unacceptable that you cannot discnnect the battery and have this happen everytime. Or write a letter to Chrysler UK and ask them how to do it, also explaining it is unacceptable that every time you disconect the battery this is going to happen...so having to pay for it to be reset is daylight robbery.
Also as the guy said try playing with the remote (remember what keys you press) to see if you get any luck.
Also I would not accept the insurer saying "not our problem", tell them to fix the dvd player or you will complain to the ombudsman.0 -
How bad was the bump? Could it have knocked the laser out of line or similar?
I had a system fitted in my Merc by "Uplands" ICE on North road, Cardiff.
The Manager there (Jon Lloyd) seemed to know everything about these systems, maybe they can help. They do alot of work for the main dealers.

Thankyou Wig, I have spoken directly with Chrysler UK who have confirmed they cannot give me codes over the phone, apparantly the dvd player needs to be taken out of the vehicle to confirm serial numbers ? they told me i need to book the vehicle in with an authorised Chrysler dealer and they will be able to repair the system !
I have no choice but to book the car into Swansea Chrysler who charge £75 an hour !!!!! I have emailed the ombudsman in the first instance, Im very annoyed with the insurance company and also with Chrysler.
My husband is going to freak !! i have yet to tell him the hourly charge !0
