You're probably not paying over the odds for your groceries at tesco's inflated prices.

    Silly you.

1000 points = 1000 pounds spent. so all those that have 8000 points or whatever have spent roughly £8000 at tesco.

Granted, promo's get you a few free points, but I don't think they'd account for the bulk of points.

If I'm wrong please correct me.

So wrong!! I use all the extra points, swap unused ones online for ones I do use, and use delivery codes. I will not spend on a delivery unless I am getting at least 50% back in vouchers. Join every club they offer to get extra points.

My weekly grocery spend is £90 - £110 MAX, so I am looking at TOPS £1320 a quarter spend and getting £300 odd back.

And opposed to lots of people, I only have only one clubcard account.

    Here goes ....

    Card 1 ... 9974
    Card 2 ... 6099
    Card 3 ... 3548
    Card 4 ... 1930

    Total ... 21551 ... ... I didn't realize I had one that big!

... plus I think we have another 1000 points coming from a TPF promo that won't go on until the statement ... so chipper as last quarter was my biggest ever at 8500 ...... woohoo!

ok, I'll correct you ;) I do a majority of my shopping in store using money off coupons, I don't spend anymore than £50 per week for 5 of us. I've done 1 online grocery shop and 2 online wine shops. (I've sold the wine to my best friend as I don't drink it and gain 1500 points) I've bought some christmas presents from Tesco direct, one with 999 bonus points and a 500 point code and others with a 500 point code. The items were not any more expensive at Tesco then elsewhere plus I got free delivery by buying wrapping paper at the same time.

I do alot of combining points if possible ie 250 points voucher for baby essentials minimum £10 shop and will use nappy and wipes extra points at the same time. Over Christmas I spent £56 on cd's, dvd's and computer games (things I would have bought anyway) and gained £2300 points by combining vouchers.

H&B's are my absolute favourite although I haven't been able to get any myself this time but have swapped vouchers I won't use for vouchers I will on another forum. Basically, I can do a clever H&B shop gaining 500 points with a 14p - 50p outlay

Edit * forgot to say I go through either pigsback or Quidco for cashback too
There is a forgotten, nay almost forbidden word which means more to me than any other. That word is England.

I can only speak personally but I graph all my out-goings on my computer and in this last quarter I have spent less (on groceries alone) than a third of what I normally do ... including Christmas ... Just because people collect points does not mean they ignore all other money saving criteria ...

Some may overspend but I would say the majority are wise pointsters ...

This is a fun thread for people to check their totals ... not a line of tin ducks .... quack quack

    Yes, you are wrong.
I don't earn much (only work 2.5 days per week as I have 2 pre School Children)
There is absolutely no way I have spent £8000.00 in Tesco in 3/4 months :rotfl: I barely earn that in a year!

I take advantage of all the things I listed above (till spits, womble, join clubs etc etc).

I normally only pay half my shopping bill too as I use money off vouchers ;)

i have 5400 in clubcard points. this is the most i have ever had and only because of this site.

    money saving rules
  • I've got 20100 points on my main tesco card this quarter, just need to think of some nice ways to spend my points. Took my duaghter to Blackpool Tower Circus at Christmas, courtesy of Tesco but that hardly makes a dint in all the points I'm currently sat on.
  • I am miles behind everyone cos I'm just on 3493. Mind you up until the last statement when I got £54.50 I had never ever had more than £10 so I am improving. How do you know which items are giving extra points please?
    If I had known then what I know now . . .
