Can't think of anything off the top of my head that you would be entitled to now your children have grown up.
I made a mistake once, believeing people on the internet were my virtual friends. It won't be a mistake that I make again!
  • Do your children still live at home?

    Do you have mobility/care needs?

Have you filled out the benefits calculators on turn2us and direct.gov to see if you can claim housing benefit/council tax benefit?

If the children still live at home, then you should be asking them to pay room and board. If they have applied for student loans, and you're on a low income, they are likely receiving maximum maintenance loan and grant, as well as possibly a bursary from their university. This money is meant to pay for their living costs - and if they are at home, then some of those costs should be payable to you. When they are home during non term time, (if they're not living at home while at uni) they should also be contributing - as the loans/grants are meant to see them through the entire year.

As MrsManda said - pop onto the turn2us site (www.entitledto.co.uk) and see if you are getting all that you are entitled to.
  • The op didnt say they still lived at home
