Nope, sorry - that's only Tesco. Asda's policy is to give a £2 giftcard when overcharged.
  • My mum gets overcharged in Asda all the time, she just takes her reciept to customer services and gets her refund plus a £2 giftcard
    Latest wins:
  • I work at ASDA customer services. Just bring the receipt to the customer service desk, and we'll sort it out. But don't delay too long. If you bring in a six-month-old receipt, there's no way of knowing what the correct price at the time was, for example.

You get a £2 gift-card for each incidence of overcharging. So if you bought bread that was 50p too expensive, you'll get £2 if you bought 1 loaf or 20. If you had that as well as some chocolate, you'd get £4, and so on.
  • Asda sent me a reply email about their giftcard overcharge policy, it says 'PER ITEM', when I asked again they sent another email making it clearer that if I buy 2 (and am overcharged) of the same products, I get 2 X £2.
So I don't understand NoeNerd's comment, about the bread example, stating they work in Asda????

noenerd is saying if you was to buy 20 bread and 1 chocolate, you would get the 2 x £2 gift card, 1 for the bread and 1 for the chocolate.

Once in the past, I had two separate items on the same receipt that I had been overcharged for (i.e. one was a toaster, and the other was a t-shirt - rather than, say, two t-shirts). I was only given 1 x £2 giftcard - I queried whether I should have been given 2 x £2 giftcards as it had happened twice but I was told no, that as it was one transaction I was only entitled to one. I just knew she was wrong ....!

Quite often you have to fight to get the £2 giftcard for an overcharge in my store - some of the CS staff seem to conveniently "forget" about it until you ask - and even then there's usually a huff and puff from the CS!

Thanks. I hadn't had any replies so went back to store and they just gave me the £1.47 refund. Shame I didn't know about the £2 giftcard! Guess it's too late now but thanks everyone x

I was overcharged by almost two pounds so I went to customer service and asked her to check it. She said 'oh I'll give you a refund' so I said 'do you still get the gift card when asda has overcharged' and she hesitated and said 'er, well, not always - it depends' and then turned away to the till, but when she gave me my refund she also gave me a gift card'
:hello:  please play nicely children !
