Preparing for OR Interview

Comments

  • I agree with INAN. When I had my interview they asked about a few transactions but certainly not all of them. I get the impression that the OR are pretty overstretched at the moment and have limited time to review everything before your interview.

Overall just be as prepared as you can, try not to stress and look forward to a celebratory drink when you're through
  • Hey Lala

I have my interview this Thursday. Spoke to OR on day of my BR (2Oth - day after yours) and they sent a letter which I received on Fri requesting 12 months bank and credit statements, loan agreements, cards cut up and some forms to fill out.

I have sent them all now as they wanted them before Thursday.

There was no mention of writing down what each transaction was so havent done that. I am a bit worried and know it will be the worst phone call of my life but TBH I am so exhausted I am too tired to worry. What will be will be. I can only answer the questions honestly nothing more.

Anyone tell me what happens after this phonecall?

Good luck Lala if there is a light at the end of the tunnel I will meet you there!!

Haha thanks Kez. Let me know how Thursday goes then :-)
  • I did list every transaction because I was asked to. Some were very obvious. Tk Maxx, Primark, Tesco etc.

Don;t worry too much Lala. Every OR is different. You'll be fine. I haven't heard from the OR since they rec'd the statements. So no news is good news, hopefully :D

Can any of you advise if I need to note what every purchase is on my credit card and bank statements please?? Or is this something that is done in Ireland. Thanks

I'm in Northern Ireland. So still part of GB. ;)

I most certainly hope not Lala. I don't have very much disposable income left over, £40 I think was left over in my SOA and CAB have advised that I'll be fine. I don't mind if they give me a NIL Tax Code and take the money from there.

JCG - Bear in mind a Nil tax code IPA is not the same as a surplus income IPA. You pay tax anyway, with the nil tax IPA you just receive the tax in your pay and then send it to Moonbeever, rather than your employer deducting tax from you.

They are usually more lenient here in NI with regards surplus income. CAB have advised that fairly recently Bankrupts have got to keep £120 (as a cushion) of surplus income and not had to pay an IPA. I just had a look at my SOA that I sent to the OR and I had forgotten to include my monthly contact lenses which are £22. I cant see the OR wanting £18 towards an IPA. Can you?

  • I was commenting on your last line about not minding if they take the money via a nil tax IPA. Just confirming it's a different thing altogether from a surplus IPA. Wasn't commenting on the £40 surplus you had in any way.
