Hi gang, thanks for all the good luck!
Update...
Offer from potential buyer on flat was increased to 294, it's still lower than we wanted but i would breakeven on that.
My ex is pretty sure he can afford it and is speaking to a mortgage adviser before he fully commits, he did seem when i spoke to him last night that he wants it.
So, gone back to estate agent to say we're thinking about the offer as it is lower than we wanted, if my ex doesn't buy it and we could get her to 296 then I would accept that so don't want to lose her.
So I've pushed him to speak to someone asap and make a decision, he really does need to decide now.
Money wise - had a work meal last night that i budgeted £35 for but work paid so thats £35 back into the coffers! Last day of the month, get to work on my Feb goals from tomorrow!!
It is so cold here, we had to de-ice the gym this morning, the lock was frozen and we struggled to get in! haha
Got my 121 with my boss this morning and will be asking for the salary increase so please wish me luck
He brough my xmas present down with him, a shoulder and back massager, my friend actually has the same one and they're fantastic, i was wanting one for myself so i am dead chuffed with that! So thoughtful, he said he wanted to look after our backs as we work so hard at desks!
i am meant to be in London tomorrow for my best mates engagement drinks (budgeted!), I really hope the snow doesn't mess up my travel!!!!Santander 0% £1,529.94

Had a feeling it may take a near acceptable offer to push your ex's hand
If the buyer goes to 296 whilst he is still deciding then accept , you can always change your mind0 -
good news - two ways of looking at it
* don't rush - and wait while you try and squeeze a couple of K out of the deal - that would probably be my strategy
* grab it with both hands as it is, as soon as you can and push for the quickest deal possible- the less you are having to fund rent AND mortgage which could very quickly out balance any extra K's

Morning
So some really good news this morning, my ex has committed to buying the flat!! I am over the moon! I am so relieved and feel like an enourmous weight has been lifted but can't quite believe it after over ayear of struggling to see the light at the end of the tunnel!
I have a solictor lined up and he's sorting his mortgage & solicitor bits out, as soon as his inheritance comes through we're good to go.
Have emailed the estate agents to take it off the market and reject the other offer.
Expecting it to take 4-8 weeks to go through just becuase but hopefully should be straightforward and soon i can be back in the black!
Snow here is pretty and pretty bad! LOL I can't get my car out of the driveway but trains seem to be running OK so im going to get a train into London soon and will defo be having a glass of fizz to celebrate tonight!
1st day of Feb off to a good start! I have budgeted £60 for tonight, now i am on the train that might increase a bit but i am saving on petrol as no longer driving this weeked so will balance out.
Having a couple of days rest from training as trained twice yesterday, then Sunday will go and do a big sesh with the team.
Oh! My 121 with my boss went wonderfully and he said when we do the salary review he'll definitley look at mine, the review takes a couple of month so no quick answer but he listened and agreed with everything i said so keeping my fingers crossed he can get something through.
Thank you everyone for all your advice on both situations!!! I am exicted to hopefully be debt free by May and then continue my diary to build up enough savings to buy on my own again

Wow - what a difference 24 hours makes!
Great news on the prospective pay rise and even better news on the flat front! In terms of how much your boyfriend is paying to buy you out, does that result in the option where you just break even or the option that you have enough left over to clear your debts? (sorry if i missed that somewhere).
A glass of fizz tonight is well deservedSealed Pot Challenge 075

I know!!!
I should walk away with £5.5k so will clear the vast majority of debt! That doesn’t include him buying me out of our joint furniture so potentially moreSantander 0% £1,529.94

I think that is a good result. Presumably no estate agents fees and minimal legal costs for you? You will be off the mortgage and have £5500 maybe more to clear the majority of your unsecured debt. Thanks both, yes just £500 legal fees, the solictor said it was very straightforward! Hoping can be tied up by end of March latest but really should be before!Santander 0% £1,529.94

Can I throw a spanner in the works? As you want to buy and as all your debt is at 0% why not keep your £5k as the basis of a deposit? Especially as you sound likely to get a salary increase in a few months and you've been managing well so far without. And it may take that long for the sale/purchase to go through. As the 0% ccs finish do you think you'd get new offers? But even if you couldn't always find new deals you'd have your £5k saved.CCs @0% £24k Dec 05 £19,621.41 Au £13400 S 12600 Oct £11,981 £9481 £7500 Nov £7250 D £7100 Jan 6950 F £5800 Mar£5400 May £4830 June £4660 July £4460 Aug £3200, S £900, £0 18/9/07 DFW Nerd 0420
