Do you mean one share - i.e. something like this or several 100 pounds worth as an investment?

The best option for you is go to your high street bank, the other options are set up an account with a broker online or direct ,the next option is do you want electronic certificates or paper. To be happy you need to make someone happy.0

Hello, Sorry if I'm doing this wrong - (money saving virgin), I'm at Uni at the moment in my 3rd and final year, and I would like to invest or save my student loan in order for it to start generating some money. I just wondered if anyone has any advice on where best to do this. The savings account at ICICI looks good, but is there such a thing as a risk free investment in buying shares? Any help would be appreciated

The best option is an online broker. Hargreaves Lansdown are offering the first month's dealing at a special rate of £1.00 to anyone who opens a dealing account before the 29th of January.0 -
I did say online broker ,but this a some-one new to equities, and let us keep it simple. It is not easy setting up an account with a broker ,ID etc so I gave options, choice,I do not believe that we are talking about massive amounts of money ,just a taster. They probably already has an account with a bank ,and I did give options ,just gave the facts. The best for a few Manchester City shares .Why did you not mention that it is not advisable to buy shares on sentiment ,or promotions or perks ,and how risky football shares are ,more chance of money loss through those facts ,rather than the dealing fee.cheerfulcat wrote:Waaay too expensive.
